Holiday Visitors ...

Hi everyone,

As we move into our new school holidays, I wanted to touch base with you all to check that we are all okay. This is not our normal holidays but we can still create fantastic memories that we will keep with us.

For example, today we had some very interesting visitors. I've read the story 'The Tiger who came to Tea' by Judith Kerr but never imagined that a tiger would EVER visit my house but that's exactly what happened. I know it's hard to believe but I took photos so you would all see our spectacular visitor.

Richard (my husband) even got to pat it. turned out it was really friendly and was looking for a warm place to have a bite to eat :)

Not only did we have a tiger visit but a horse knocked at our door so we just had to let it in and then, surprisingly, a shark also swam into our house. I know, I know, it's really hard to believe but that is exactly what happened. Yes I took photos so you could definitely see our fabulous visitors.

As you can see, the shark thought it could eat Richard's arm but being as his arm is robotic, the shark chose to leave it alone, thank goodness :)

What a very crazy day!!! You too could have some strange visitors visit you. For instructions on how to do this, check out the comments. When your strange visitors visit you, make sure to take some photos and blog these. You may even want to add your strange visitors to ours by sharing your photos as a comment on this post.

Stay safe out there and I hope you get some interesting visitors to your house :)

    - If you type an animal name into the Google Search Bar (on an iphone or Android) and then scroll down, you will see a box that says 'View in 3D'. Tap this and it brings up your camera and then instructions to move your phone side to side. 30 seconds later you have an animal in your house.

  2. Hi,
Lucy’s mum here. I saw this done on another post Saturday night, and wanted to surprise the children by showing them these wonderful creatures Sunday morning Unfortunately it turns out you need a compatible device to do this and we don’t have one. So sad, or we would’ve taken part in this.

Your photos look amazing, so much fun obviously happening in your house for sure.

    Bye for now

    1. Hi Erika,

That is indeed a shame as I know both Lucy and Hunter would have really enjoyed this. I promise the next task won't be dependent on a compatible operating device.

Can't wait to see what you have been doing.

      :) Mrs Taylor

    2. Hi Erica,

I absolutely love how you have engaged Hunter and Lucy with this challenge even though you didn't have a compatible device. The way you have gone about it shows creativity and the pure awesomeness of having fun while problem solving. Thanks so much for getting involved.

      Kindest regards

      Angela

  3. Hello everyone,
I have just spent ages trying to get an Emperor Penguin into my bedroom, but I don't think my iphone will allow it as it is not an 11:( We have done a lot of baking and sorting in our house. Jigsaw puzzles have also been done and card games. Jonti, Poppy and Matua have had turns at cooking dinner...and I must say I think they are all much better cooks than me. We have been going for daily runs around our local block just to get a little bit of fresh air and to keep ourselves happy and healthy...but haven't had any tigers for tea. I am wondering what books people have been reading as books offer us all an escape into whole new worlds. We could all video ourselves reading a book and then sharing it on this site. Such a great idea.. Who is in???

  4. Kia ora Mrs Taylor and Te Māhuri,

What a lot of interesting visitors you've had Mrs Taylor. We had a bear and a lion visit too. Ruby, our dog, sat nicely for the lion and it didn't eat her, which I was very thankful for. I'm glad Richard's arm didn't get eaten by the shark. The bear visited Hannah as she did her school work and Dan as he did his office work. He was a nice bear ... possibly Winnie the Pooh's cousin? He didn't say.

    Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hi Connor,

These are awesome!! I particularly like the one of you feeding the duck. This is something I enjoy doing but not when it is as wet and windy as it is today. I hope you found where the snake went.
